Intimate Sorolla shows the origin of vision of Spain at the Cultural Centre of Bancaja

Intimate Sorolla. Sketches of Spain view is a sample of 32 drawings, gouaches (gouache or watercolor opaques) and unpublished studies of the Valencian painter Joaquín Sorolla exhibiting at the Bancaja Cultural Centre in Valencia thanks to the collaboration between the Generalitat Valenciana, Bancaja Foundation and the Hispanic Society of America.

This exhibition is considered the first step to fourteen panels of his Vision of Spain series that the artist painted for the library of the Hispanic Society of America in New York. Thus, Sorolla travelled throughout the Spanish geography capturing in his work the light, colors, customs, traditions and folklore of the different Spanish regions which was reflected in the collection who enjoyed all the Valencians and visitors in 2007 at the cultural centre of Bancaja.
